Nordic Breed Kennel develops, refines and perfects sled dogs, but are also known to be excellent pets.

We have chosen some of the more precious breeds to produce the ultimate sled dog.

GENERAL APPEARANCE: Medium to large dog, proportionate, strong, agile, well muscled animal, alert and full of life. It is well balanced, with harmonious development of the forequarter and hindquarter. Firm bone structure. Coat length can be short or long and any color mix accepted. Wolf-like look, but not wolf content.

BEHAVIOR / TEMPERAMENT: This dog's intelligence level is extremely high. They are highly trainable and eager to please their human companions. They are loyal and protective of their families and are totally dedicated to their human owners. They are very good with children and other animals, including other dogs, household pets, as well as livestock. They must not be timid, shrinking behind its master or handler; it should not be nervous, looking about or upward with anxious expression or showing nervous reactions, such as tucking of tail, to strange sounds or sights. Lack of confidence under any surroundings is not typical of good character.

SIZE: The desired height for males at the top of the highest point of the shoulder blade is 24 to 26 inches; and for bitches, 22 to 24 inches.
