Smakwater and Sprezzatura Kennels, owned and operated by John and Laura McCarthy, is located in the Bitterroot Valley near Stevensville Montana, and home to Champion Labrador Hunting Retrievers with over 500 awards and titles combined from events in the field, conformation ring, obedience ring, therapy work Our objective is to maintain a line of Labrador Retriever that is consistent with the breed standard as originally prescribed by the American Kennel Club, and to provide ethical consideration in the handling and care for the animals we breed, train, and board.

Smakwater and Sprezzatura is a full service kennel, providing professional dog boarding, training,and conditioning for all medium to large breed dogs. We specialize in basic obedience training for both the companion dog and sporting / hunting dog. In addition, we offer advanced training for those who are interested in more precise and demanding tasks.Extra large buddy runs are available for the multi- dog family.
